Being The Lord's Servant

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Teacher vs. Student

A first-grade teacher, Miss X, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, "Y, what's your problem?"

Y answered, "I'm too smart for the first grade. My sister is in the third grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the third grade too!"

Miss X had enough. She took Y to the Z's office.

While Y waited in the office, X explained to the Z what the situation was. Z told X he would give Y a test. If Y failed to answer any of his questions Y has to go back to the first grade and behave. X agreed.

Y was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.

Z: "What is 3 x 3?"

Y: "9."

Z: "What is 6 x 6?"

Y: "36."

And so it went with every question the principal thought a third grader should know.

Z looks at Miss X and tells her, "I think Y can go to the third grade."

Miss X says to the Z, "Let me ask him some questions."

Z and Y both agreed.

Miss X asks, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?"

Y, after a moment: "Legs."

Miss X: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?"

Z wondered why she would ask such a question!

Y replied: "Pockets."

Miss X: "What does a dog do that a man steps into?"

Y: "Pants."

Miss X: What starts with a C, ends with a T, is hairy, oval, and delicious and contains thin, whitish liquid?"

Y: "Coconut."

Z sat forward with his mouth hanging open.

Miss X: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?"

Z's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, Y replied, "Bubble gum."

Miss X: "What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?"

Y: "Shake hands."

Z was trembling.

Miss X: "What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of heat and excitement?"

Y: "Fire truck."

Z breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, "Put Harry in the fifth-grade, I got the last seven questions wrong.

Dear Lord, I thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to attend the Teachers’ College interview. I thank you Lord for giving me strength throughout the day. Lord, I know that I have done my best and right now, all I can do is just to wait till June 5th. Lord, I know that you have plans for me, plans that will not bring harm but plans that will prosper me. Lord, I pray that may Your will be done and not mine. In Jesus’ most precious name I pray. Amen.
